Welcome to the Governor’s Serve to Preserve: Green Schools Awards - Florida’s “green school” recognition program.

This web site allows Florida students, classes, teachers, schools administrators, and district administrators to share details of green school projects they have completed during the 2010-2011 school year. These projects will be reviewed by an expert panel of judges and fifteen finalists will be selected to participate in an awards ceremony in October 2011 where the state winners will be announced.

Students, teachers and administrators from both public and private K-12 schools are eligible to apply. The application is entirely online and documents very specific aspects of each project including benefits to the environment, community, and student learning. In addition, the application seeks to document cost savings and productivity improvements generated by the projects. Because of the detail sought in the application, we recommend you start your application early so you will have time to gather the required information.

With over 3,500 schools across the state, the potential cumulative impact of green school projects is tremendous. Please join us as we transform our schools into green learning environments that benefit our students, their communities and the environment we share.
